Looking for hypnotherapy training that is hands-on and practical?
* Training which leads to an accredited professional hypnotherapy qualification
* Intensive weekday, weekend or fast-track training which provides maximum flexibility
* Small class sizes with plenty of classroom practise and individual tutor support
You’ve decided that you want to re-train as a hypnotherapist and are looking for a hypnotherapy training course in London. Maybe you’re finding it confusing because there are so many courses all with a different focus. You may have discovered that there are training courses called Cognitive Hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, Ericksonian Hypnosis and Hypno-psychotherapy. You may not know what any of that means or which is the right training course for you... It can be so baffling!
It may be that you are a bit nervous about committing to loads of studying, but you really want a change of direction. You like the idea of doing something that helps people as you’re fed up with what you’re doing now and would love to do something more worthwhile. Perhaps you have considered training to be a counsellor in the past, but were put off at the prospect of 4 years of studying. Training to be a hypnotherapist appeals to you as it provides the opportunity to qualify for a rewarding new career in a relatively short space of time. Hypnotherapists are usually self-employed and that may be something new for you and you really like the idea of choosing when you work and earning a good hourly rate.
During your research into hypnotherapy training and qualifications you may have been shocked to learn that hypnotherapy isn’t regulated. Sadly, regulation for hypnotherapy, counselling and coaching is voluntary. This makes choosing the best training school or training course all the more important. London Hypnotherapy Academy (LHA) doesn’t claim to be better than the other hypnotherapy training schools in London, although there are some differences in our approach to training and the student experience. We are proud of what we do and the wonderful therapists who graduate from our school every year.
Important to you will be finding a training course that is a ‘good fit’ for you; that works with your life and current job. The ability to choose between weekend training and weekday training may be important. We offer intensive weekday training modules where you can complete a training module in the shortest time. If you work during the week and want to train at weekends, you can complete your face to face classroom training over two weekends (per module) and if you want to fast-track your training, you could combine weekday training modules with weekend training modules.
You will learn a rich mix of hypnotherapy approaches when you enrol for our professional hypnotherapy diploma training as well as some other tried and tested psychotherapy techniques such as EMDR, Gestalt (empty chair) and Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping). Our practitioner training programme is comprised of five x 4-day classroom modules. These are Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, Ericksonian Hypnosis, Hypno-psychotherapy, Medical Hypnosis and Changework (NLP and coaching). You’ll also receive a supplementary online training module; the Foundations of Hypnotherapy. You will also get access to the LHA Hypno Vault, which is only accessible to our students. It houses many extra learning materials including news, articles, videos and scripts.
During your training you will join a small group where you'll have plenty of opportunity to observe and practise a wide range of Hypnotherapy, NLP and Coaching techniques as well as other psychotherapeutic techniques such as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), EMDR (Eye Movement De-sensitisation & Re-processing), Gestalt (Empty Chair). We'll ensure that in addition to practising your client consultation and therapy skills, you'll also receive all the academic resources that you need and of course there'll always be time for you to ask questions of your therapist tutor. On the successful completion of your studies you will receive the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD).
When you graduate, you will want to be assured that your diploma is recognised, that you can get professional insurance cover and can join a professional association. You’ll have found that there are many different associations you can join on qualification and it may be hard to tell the difference between one and another. I’m pleased to reassure you that the LHA Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma meets all the National Occupational Standards (NOS) so you’ll be able to join the NCH (National Council for Hypnothrapy), the APHP (Association for Professional Hypnosis & Psychotherapy) and the government supported CNHC (Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council). Indeed you will be able to join any independent professional association... some schools set up their own association for their graduates to join.
At LHA we offer a 2-stage qualification so you can graduate not only with your London Hypnotherapy Academy Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD) and the externally accredited NCH (HPD) which is jointly awarded by the NCH and the NCfE.
